This is another piece from the series based on the crying-child paintings of Bruno Amadio, better known under the name Giovanni Bragolin. I’m using that familiar image of childhood sadness and placing it inside a more explicit structure of male authority, turning the original melancholy into something about silence, control, and patriarchy.
