This piece is a collaboration with Propaganda Department, my husband’s art project, whose work explores control, manipulation, authority and rebellion through the visual language of propaganda and street art. I wanted to bring that language into a religious image, placing the Madonna and the rifle together so that devotion, power and violence occupy the same space.
